Choirs
St. Michael's Choir sings each Sunday at the 10:45 a.m. Eucharist, September through May. The choir leads congregational singing of service music and hymns, and also prepares an offertory anthem which is appropriate for the season or a particular Sunday of the church year. High standards and goals are set for the group, which is made up completely of volunteers with varying levels of ability. St. Michael's Choir events throughout the year may include an offering featuring a major work with professional instrumentalists, Choral Evensong, choir retreats, an Advent Service of Lessons and Carols, visits from guest musicians, and additional special services on feast days or other occasions. The group works hard and puts in long hours, yet balances that with fun times at choir parties and post rehearsal gatherings. Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings from 7:30 p.m to 9:30 pm. Anyone who enjoys singing, reads music or has a good ear, and is willing and able to make the time commitment to the choir is encouraged to call Director of Music David Baker at 847-381-2323, ext. 20.
Cantor Choir
Cantor Choir has customarily provided musical leadership for the 9:00 a.m. service of Holy Eucharist, September through May. Singers who prefer more contemporary music in worship should call the Director of Music David Baker at 847-381-2323, ext. 20. for further information about the Cantor Choir.
St. Michael's Handbell Choir
St. Michael's
Handbell Choir is always happy to accept new members. Requirements are
minimal and the Handbell Choir is an opportunity for almost anyone to be
a part of the music making at St. Michael's. Reading music is not
necessary — you just need to be able to count and to ring on cue!
Rehearsals are currently held on Thursdays from 6:30 p.m. to 7:15 pm.

Children's Choir
The
Children's Choir is led by Children's Choir Director, Kara Joy Baker. The Choir
practices on Tuesdays from 4:30-5:30 p.m.The Children's Choir regularly contributes musical offerings to the 9:00 worship throughout the school year, as well as a muscial drama each December. Interested young singers are encouraged to join any time and seasonal participation is understood due to other commitments of children.
