St. Michael's Little Angels Christian Preschool is a ministry of St. Michael's Episcopal Church. The parent advisory board, director, and staff are dedicated to providing a safe and loving Christian environment for all children who attend. Little Angels is a place where children are accepted and loved, a place where laughter, play and learning are cherished and where each child is recognized as a special gift from God.

Established in 1998, the preschool is licensed by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and accredited through the National Association for the Education of Young Children, (NAEYC).  Our accreditation ensures that we are committed to high quality education in a safe and nurturing environment while promoting the physical, social, emotional, spiritual, and intellectual development of young children.  All staff members meet or exceed state qualifications and are trained in CPR and First Aid. We also offer low student/teacher ratios.

Classes Offered:

The Little Angels program is designed to meet the developmental and spiritual needs of young children ages 18 months to five years. The curriculum offers a wide range of developmentally appropriate activities to enable them to discover their creative potential, learn problem solving skills, understand their world, challenge their physical talents, develop necessary social skills and foster their understanding of the love that Jesus has for each one of them and how special they are to God.

The Pre-K and four-year-old curriculum is enhanced by weekly Spanish instruction.  The two, three, and four, and Pre-K children receive music education by a professionally trained musician. The children also participate in a weekly clergy time in the sanctuary of St. Michael’s led by the Curate and Religious Education Director of the church. 

Little Angels also offers enrichment classes for three and four year old children.  An extended day lunch program is also available for three and four and Pre-K children.

Little Angels is located in the lower level of St. Michael's church. We have three spacious classrooms that were completed in the fall of 2001. Each classroom is equipped with generous amounts of developmentally appropriate materials and has its own bathroom facility. We offer an outside playground for large motor skills as well as an inside motor room for use on inclement weather days.
