St. Michael's currently has two Women's Studies groups that meet on Tuesdays. One group, Soul Journey, meets on Tuesday mornings at 9:30 a.m., and the other group, Spirited Sisters, meets on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. Please see the calendar page for specific dates.
Spirited Sisters Book StudyCome join Spirited Sisters this fall to study the Book of James. This nine-week study begins September 29, 2015 and concludes on November 24, 2015. We meet in the library from 7:00-9:00 p.m., although the first gathering will be at the home of Annilee Quinlan. What do you bring? Just yourself and your Bible.
James, the half-brother of Jesus, is the writer of this book. Written in approximately 48-49 A.D., it was likely the first New Testament book (letter) to be written. James is a book about practical Christian living that reflects a genuine faith that transforms lives. He boldly deals with practical issues of faith not bound by culture or place. He shows the importance of living a genuine life of faith and with action that makes a difference. His message is not that works save the Christian, but that works mark the Christian. His words of encouragement and challenge are true today as we live out what we say we believe and have learned through Christ.
Join us for fellowship and lively learning as we encounter the Book of James.

* On the last Tuesday of each month we will meet at the home of a Spirited Sister rather than in St. Michael's Library.
Soul Journey: A Women's Journey
Soul Journey: A Women's Journey will return to it's normal time on Tuesdays, beginning September 10th and running 11 weeks through November 19th (in the church library from 9:30-11:30 am).
We're going to do a new gospel this year: the intriguing/deep/metaphorical book of John. This non-synoptic gospel holds many, many treasures for us. We'll pick out some highlights: Nicodemus, the Woman of Samaria, the Man born blind, Mary, Martha and Lazarus, Mary Magdalene, light versus darkness, and of course, Jesus' new commandment - Just love each other!
Let's boldly go there and let it nurture our souls.
Who are the women who come to Soul Journey? Well, for starters they span the gamut from age to situations. And they're the nicest bunch of women you'll find. These ladies really care for each other and we have room on the couch for you.
We'll have childcare so that you can come and fill your cup. Come and try us out, even if you've never come, or if it's been a long time. Welcome (back)!
