Give the Gift of Warmth

As the weather turns cold & our furnaces click on, our hearts turn towards those who are without heat, blankets and food.

Cumali is an organization that provides a hot meal, soup, warm blankets and coats and the ministry of presence every Monday night to the homeless who call lower Wacker drive home.

I have the privilege of volunteering with a handful of others who deliver food, warmth and prayer to those living there. At this time my primary role is creating awareness about the ongoing needs of the homeless on Lower Wacker, coordinating our annual blanket drive, and taking Eucharist to the homeless throughout the year.

During the month of October I am collecting 100 new or gently used blankets to give out on Monday nights. Please help by leaving donated blankets in the large plastic bin labeled CUMALI by the community room.
