READY TO BECOME A MEMBER

You may be ready to make a commitment to join our parish. If so, the process is very simple -- just come to church, explore our offerings for spiritual and educational development, and make your interests known to one of our clergy. They will most certainly be able to introduce you to one of our parishioners who will answer your questions, and perhaps mentor you so that your needs will be addressed.

You can also fill out our Newcomer Form, which will put you in touch with someone from our staff or ministry, who will contact you at your convenience.   At this class you will meet our clergy, vestry members, and some ministry leaders. This class is a good time to get acquainted with our beliefs, services and offerings for families and individuals. You may also fill out the Member/Family Profile Sheet online by click here

Once your decision is made to join our parish, please choose from the following as to how we can accommodate your membership:

Transfer of Membership

If you are already baptized or confirmed Episcopalian, the office will request your letter of membership from your last Episcopal church. This letter will transfer your membership to St. Michael’s.

Baptized Member

If you have been baptized in any other Christian denomination, we can recognize you as a baptized member. Let us know the denomination and date of your baptism. In this case, The Book of Common Prayer (BCP) makes clear that the normal expectation is confirmed membership. (BCP pg 412)

Confirmation

If you wish to become a confirmed Episcopalian, or to be received into the Episcopal Church from the Roman Catholic, Lutheran or Orthodox Church, click here to inquire about our adult Confirmation classes. This series of classes is an examination of the faith and worship of Anglicanism. These classes are fun, informative, and a great way to meet new and interesting people.

If you choose to be confirmed there are some added benefits. You will be able to vote in our annual parish elections, run for a position on the vestry, or serve as a convention delegate. Please know that if this is not a convenient time for you to take the classes, or if you feel that you are not ready for this leap of faith, you can still be on the rolls as a baptized member.

Active Members

While the church ministers to anyone in crisis, active members enjoy the fullness of all that St. Michael’s has to offer. Active members are regular in worship and prayer, and faithful in giving and working for the building up of the kingdom. Everyone, regardless of membership status, is encouraged to get involved. This can be easily accomplished by checking out our Ministries or Volunteers Needed postings.
