Taizé services give seekers of spirituality a comfortable place to worship no matter what their creed or dogma, to bring a variety of people together in loving contemplation, and to enrich the lives of those who attend through the beauty of light and song.
The music emphasizes simple phrases (usually lines from Psalms or other pieces of Scripture) repeated until they work their way into the rhythms of the heart, a form of "praying without ceasing".
