Stock the Shelves: Please leave food donations in the Silver Wagon, a long-time presence in St. Michael's narthex, or in the green wagon near the Community room, any day / week of the month. We distribute food collected on the 3rd Sunday of every month.
Food prices and rent are increasing while support for those who struggle with food insecurity is uncertain. Food pantries in the area are facing a rising crisis as the need far exceeds the amount of food available. The Stock the Shelves ministry is even more necessary in our current environment.
Donations brought throughout the year support three of our local food pantries: Barrington Township, Cuba Township and Palatine Township. Combined, these organizations serve 1,500-2,000 people each month, a 25% increase over last year.
