Who is St. Michael The Archangel? Who is St. Michael’s the church? This is what we will be discussing in Sunday school this week. I can’t wait to hear how the children describe him and/ or our church.
According to Scripture and Tradition, Michael has four main responsibilities. He combats Satan, he escorts the faithful to heaven, he champions for all Christians, and he calls us from life on Earth to our heavenly judgement. Remarkably, he is the only named archangel in Scripture.
This Sunday we will take a field trip so to speak throughout the church to learn about St. Michael the Archangel and St. Michael’s church. We will walk down the memory lane and discuss the church’s history while playing a scavenger hunt for historical facts. I am sure they will learn all about the gift shop, The Bard Memorial Bells, stained glass windows, organ and much more.
What if we celebrate who we are on Saint Michael’s day? We can do this by looking at two similar traits between the celestial being Michael and St. Michael’s church. We are fierce and strong!
