A few years ago we started a children’s stewardship campaign. Even though we are virtual, we managed to keep the program alive this year. I love this lesson of self-accountability. The card and campaign is presented in a gentle but purposeful manner. The children make the decision to share the love of Jesus, tell someone about the love of Jesus, share their money with God and check the box that they will pray for their family.
We discussed Stewardship means “to manage something” or “to take care of something.” In the church, Stewardship is how we thank God for everything God does for us and gives us.
After filling out the card, the children were eager to share what they were going to do different at home. How they were going to show the love of Jesus by helping others. Some suggested they were going to unload the dish washer without being asked. These comments warmed my heart. We talked about how last year we discovered that Stewardship is Heart work. We will continue to discuss gratitude as we enter into the Advent season in December.
Thank you all for having your children participate. Every first Sunday of the month is the Parent packet pick-up & activity. Weekly we have about 9-10 children on the Sunday school zoom calls. (I still have November packets available).
